BT Young Scientist wins in Europe

BT Young Scientist of the year Emer Jones, has scooped second place for her project on “Research and Development of Emergency Sandbag Shelters” at the European Young Scientist competition in Copenhagen in September.  Emer, who was the youngest ever winner in the history of the BT Young Scientist last January, won €5000 in Copenhagen.

Commenting on the win, Chris Clark from BT said: “We’re delighted to hear the result from Copenhagen and wish Emer every success in her future research. Emer is a fantastic ambassador for the future of science and technology in Ireland and we hope her success hopefully inspire other young people to enter the 2009 BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition.”
